Do you want to be personally represented by an experienced lawyer whom you can think of as your lawyer, or have your claim processed by a legal claims factory, where answers to your questions and personal contact with a lawyer who knows your file may be hard to come by?
While I was once a senior partner in a large law firm with more than 20 attorneys in four offices in Mid and Northern Michigan, for the last 17 years
I have chosen to work as a sole practitioner, which I feel improves the quality of service I can offer my clients.
Unlike many senior attorneys in large law firms and some "television" personal injury lawyers, who often delegate all of the actual work on their clients’ claims to "associates", “paralegals”, and even outside law firms, I represent each of my client's interests personally. By this means, I try to provide the level of personal level you should expect from your personal attorney, but with the expertise in personal injury matters that many local general practice attorneys lack.
In my opinion, the best service an attorney can provide to a client is to be available to the client; to be open and candid about both the strengths and weaknesses of a potential claim, and to keep the client fully informed as the claim proceeds, so that the client can make informed decisions based on that advise. In part due to this philosophy, I have never had a grievance or a malpractice claim filed against me in 25 years of practice.
